Georgian Large Gold Plated Brass Fine Cannetille Wirework Earrings
A pair of remarkably beautiful dangling cannetille earrings from the Georgian (ca1830) era! These fantastic earrings are made of gold plated brass and have a unique and artistic design formed by very fine cannetille wirework. Each earring begins with a curled floral topper that rests at the base of simple earring wires. A 3-dimensional cage-like vessel hangs from the surmount, with long leaf-like strands that form a layered top. The cantle wirework has a subtly textured surface and forms very ornate and unusual earrings. They look incredibly impressive when worn and would make a marvelous addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 3 1/4" long, and is is 1/2" at the widest and thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Due to the very fine nature of the earrings, there is some normal, minor surface wear to the brass wirework, however, this is not apparent when the earrings are worn.
