Art Deco Fahrner Sterling, Carnelian & Marcasite Earrings
Wonderful Theodor Fahrner sterling and carnelian earrings from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Made of sterling silver, these beautiful earrings are decorated with carnelian stones and marcasites. Each earring begins with a sterling topper which is encrusted with 6 marcasites. Hanging from the surmount is a sterling bar that has 3 carnelian stones that rest diagonally within the link. A textured, convex circle, which is detailed with numerous marcasite stones, dangles from the bottom. The earrings hang from the original screw backs which could be converted to posts or wires if desired. The back of each earring is stamped "TF 935". These wonderful earrings are very unusual and a must have for the Fahrner collector!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 3/8" long, 5/8" at the widest point and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or to the carnelian stones and all of the marcasites are intact. The screw back posts are secure and rest comfortably on the ear.
