An absolutely fantastic enamel and diamond locket from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This lovely piece, which is made of 14kt yellow gold, is particularly large in size and forms a shield-like shape, with scalloped corners at the bottom. The front of the locket is adorned with black enamel and features a white enameled frame along the outside of the piece. The center is enhanced by a row of 27 Single Cut white diamonds that form the same shape as the locket. It opens at the top with a enameled push clasp to reveal the original mirror and a shallow compartment. The underside of the locket as well as the interior is vibrant gold and has a textured design along the surface. The back of the bail is stamped "14K" and on the underside of the compartment lid is a makers mark along with "14K" and "764". A striking piece, this beautiful locket would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 3 5/8" long, is 2" across at the widest point, and approximately 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or enamel and all of the diamonds are intact.
