Art Deco Sterling Silver Painted Enamel Flower Necklace
A wonderful painted enamel pendant from the late Art Deco period (ca1930)! This fantastic piece, which is particularly large in size, is made of sterling silver and carries the shape of a large, oblong oval. Set within the ornate sterling wirework frame is a large enameled plaque which has a rich, black background and a beautiful floral image hand painted on the front. The piece hangs from a complimentary bail which also has a hand painted flower image set within a sterling frame, and both images have a clear enameled surface to preserve the color and condition of the piece. The large pendant hangs from a long gunmetal chain and the compilation has a wonderful look when worn. It's a wonderful and feminine piece that would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2 7/8" long, is 1 3/8" wide and 3/8" thick. The chain measures 25" in length.
Condition: The overall condition of the painted pendant and chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting or to the painted enameling and the chain clasp is secure and in good working condition.
