A gorgeous diamond and sapphire pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This beautiful piece, which is made of platinum, forms a wide teardrop shape with geometric-cut edges. At the top of the pendant is a small topper which carries a diamond detailed leaf-like design. The topper serves as a bail, with platinum wires in the back, making it simple to hang the pendant from a chain. The pendant dangles below and features a platinum octagonal-shaped design. In the center is a prong-set old Mine Cut diamond, which weighs approximately .60ct and is surrounded by a row of deep blue French cut sapphires. The border of the pendant is encrusted with 20 additional diamonds that have a total approximate weight of .95ct (overall diamond weight is 1.55ct tw). The back of the pendant is open and slightly concave and in between the prong set stones is gorgeous milgrained details and fine filigree work. This brilliant and eye-catching piece is a magnificent pendant and looks simply stunning when worn!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/2" long, is slightly more than 3/4" wide, and has a depth of nearly 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting, and all of the diamond and sapphire stones are intact.
