Art Deco Platinum & Diamond Engagement Ring 1.52ct

SKU: 0232

An absolutely exquisite diamond engagement ring from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! The center diamond stone, which is an old European Transitional Cut, has a total weight of 1.52ct tw. It is set in the center of a beautiful and ornate filigree platinum domed setting that rests high above the finger. The color of the stone is K and has a clarity of VVS2. The diamond is bezel set in platinum and sits atop the delicate mounting which is surrounded by feminine wirework with milgrained details. Also set within the beautiful mounting are 24 additional Single Cut sparkling diamonds which add to the rich detail of the ring. These diamonds range in size from approximately .18ct - .36ct each (totalling approximately .54ct tw). These diamonds have G-H color range and VS-SI clarity grade range. The inside shank of the ring is marked several times: ".900 PLAT.100-IRID" and "WISS". The overall diamond weight of the ring is 2.06ct tw. The ring was appraised by an independent Gemologist in March 2011 and has a retail replacement value of $17,500. With a very different look, it is an absolutely gorgeous ring and would make a stunning engagement ring!

Measurements: The ring is a finger size 6.5 but it could easily be re-sized. When worn, the ring sits a little more than 1/4" atop the finger.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the platinum or to the diamond stone. All of the diamonds within the mounting are intact.
