Art Deco Sterling Silver Cupid Heart Locket
A beautiful locket from the Art Deco (ca1930s) era! This heart-shaped locket is made of sterling silver and has a lovely repousse design on the front. The raised repousse image depicts the iconic cherub figure of Cupid. The cherub has feathered angel wings and has both arms outstretched, with a small bow in one hand and a single arrow in the other. The locket opens to reveal two places for special photographs inside. At the top of the piece is a simple sterling fluted bail, and the inside of the piece is stamped "925". This charming locket would look wonderful worn on a silver chain and could make a special gift for someone special!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 1 1/2", is approximately 1 1/8" wide and has a depth of slightly more than 1/4" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or bail, which is intact. The locket opens easily and stays securely closed.
