A very unique and whimsical pendant from the Art Deco (ca1930) era! This wonderful, legend-inspired piece is made of sterling silver and depicts the valiant Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon. He is dressed in battle armor and is depicted slaying the plague-bearing dragon with a long sword. The 3-dimensional pendant is intricately detailed and comes to life with colorful enameling in bright hues of green, white, blue and red. The pendant hangs from two strands of sterling chain decorated with natural seed pearls. The strands meet at the top at a textured sterling bail, allowing the pendant to be hung from a necklace. Dangling at the bottom of the piece is a single delicate seed pearl, completing the design perfectly. This marvelous pendant shows excellent craftsmanship and looks beautiful when worn. It would make a very special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2" long, measures 1" wide and is 1/4" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the sterling or enameling and the natural seed pearls are all intact.
