Product Details

An exquisite gold locket from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! This beautiful piece, which is particularly large in size, is made of 14kt yellow gold and carries the shape of a rectangle with clipped corners. The entire surface of the piece has a wonderful engine turned design which covers the front, back as well as the interior. A flowing etched floral border frames both sides of the locket and the initials MCL can be found in the front corner on one side. The piece hangs from hinged bail which carries a complimentary floral etched design and a push clasp can be found at the top. The clasp is detailed with a cabochon sapphire and the face opens with a spring-like mechanism. The inside of the locket reveals two generously sized spaces to store photographs. A very unique piece, it would look fabulous hanging from a long chain. It's a magnificent locket and would make a very special addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket hangs a little more than 2 1/4" tall, 1 3/8" wide and 1/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold locket or to the engraved design. The piece opens easily and closes securely and the sapphire push clasp is intact.
