Art Nouveau Austrian Sterling & Painted Porcelain Bracelet

SKU: 36599

A magnificent Austro-Hungarian bracelet from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) period! Made of sterling silver, this beautiful one-of-a-kind piece is very large in size and has an incredibly ornate design. At the center of the piece is a large oval-shaped porcelain plaque covered in crystal. The porcelain is hand painted in vivid colors, depicting a feminine floral design and is surrounding by a mesmerizing border formed by twisted vines, complete with leaves and berries. At each side of the plaque are 4 angelic cherubs, shown in three dimensional detail with realistic facial features and feathered wings outstretched. The sides of the bracelet are completed with a row of hinged links that bear a complimentary design comprised of leaves, vines and berries. A push clasp is hidden within the design at the back of the bracelet and a safety chain provides extra security. The attention to detail is superb, including an engraved design on the back of the silver setting. This wonderfully elaborate and unusual piece is absolutely stunning and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
