A lovely locket from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This beautiful piece is made of 18kt yellow gold and has the wonderful repousse image of a beautiful woman's face. The picture is intricately detailed with long flowing locks of hair and an angelic face. She is surrounded by soft flowers and leaves which are detailed with 15 bezel set old Rose Cut diamonds. On the back of the piece are the engraved initials "MN". The locket is a slide style and opens to reveal a black and white photograph of a woman. The front is marked with the name "L. JANVIER". This unusual and beautiful locket would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket is 1 1/4" at the widest point, 1 1/2" long and is a little more than 1/4" thick. It hangs from a bail that measures 1/4" tall and 3/16" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear and a small ding on the back, there is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the diamonds are intact. The locket slides open easily and closes securely.
