Art Nouveau Dramatic Sterling & Moonstone Necklace
A dramatic sterling and moonstone necklace from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This outstanding piece is made of sterling silver and comprised of beautiful moonstone cabochons that link together to form an elegant necklace. There are 22 moonstones altogether, each held within a silver bezel setting, and all displaying a gorgeous translucent blue color. A row of oval moonstones forms a curved line at the center of the piece and hanging below is an ornate centerpiece formed by clustered moonstones. The centerpiece is accented with round sterling balls and separated by two strands of fine silver chain. Dangling freely at the very bottom of the piece is a single oval moonstone, completing the lovely design. This magnificent necklace serves as a wonderful example of the Art Nouveau era. It has a gorgeous design that drapes beautifully when worn and makes a fabulous statement. It would make a very special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 16" long. The centerpiece hangs 5 1/2" long from top to bottom.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver or to any of the moonstone stones, all of which are intact. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
