Art Nouveau Sterling & Citrine Filigree Pendant
A lovely and artistic citrine pendant from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This beautiful piece is fairly large in size, and adorns 9 faceted citrine stones which are set in an ornate sterling silver setting. At the center of the pendant is a large, oval-shaped citrine stone surrounded by 7 smaller round citrines. A single citrine set within a decorative link dangles freely at the very bottom. The citrines have a rich, warm orange color and are all bezel set in an open back setting. An incredible scrolled wirework design completes the feminine setting, which is textured with delicate milgrain detail and accented with fine sterling beadwork. At the top of the pendant is a gold bail, allowing it to be hung from a complimentary chain. The back is stamped "STERLING SILVER". A very special piece, this lovely pendant displays exemplary craftsmanship and would make an elegant addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2 1/4" long, is approximately 1 3/8" at its widest point and has a depth of 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting and all of the citrine stones are intact. One of the smaller citrine stones has a chip, however it is not noticeable when worn and does not detract from the beauty of this antique piece.
