A beautiful butterfly brooch from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) period! This lovely handmade pin portrays a 14kt yellow gold butterfly with open wings that are detailed with 12 old Mine cut diamonds. The stones range in size from 5pt to 15pt each. A vibrant oval opal graces the center of the butterfly's body which is detailed with hand etching. The eyes are represented by small cabochon rubies and the antennae are gold with diamond tips. This gorgeous brooch would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The butterfly has a wing span of 1 5/8" wide and measures approximately 7/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the brooch is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold or opal and all of the stones are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
