Art Nouveau 10kt Repousse Maidens Signet Ring
A signet ring can be represented with an intaglio, which is created by carving below the surface of a stone, or by a simple smooth seal. Its purpose would have been to seal the wax of a letter or note.
A stunning gold signet ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1900s) era! Made of vibrant 10kt yellow gold, the ring has a large oval-shaped face with a monogrammed center. On each side of the signet is a romantic repousse maiden, both of them depicted with raised arms, long flowing hair, beautiful faces, and swirled gold detail draped over their bodies. The flowing, swirled detail extends down each side of the band, completing the gorgeous Art Nouveau design. The inside of the piece is stamped "10K" on the back of the signet, along with a small triangle hallmark. This incredible ring is simply stunning and would look wonderful worn by a woman or a man!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 8.25 but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or repousse design.
