Art Nouveau 14kt Rose Quartz Carved Scarab Ring

SKU: 34715

During the 19th century the discoveries of ancient archaeological finds influenced and brought on what is referred to as “archaeological revival” or "Egyptian revival" jewelry. The initial Egyptian Revival period flourished from the 1820's and was inspired by ancient Egyptian imagery such as the scarab beetle.

A fabulous Egyptian Revival scarab ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1910) era! This stunning piece is made of vibrant 14kt yellow gold and displays a fantastic hand carved rose quartz scarab beetle at the center. The rosy stone has wonderful hand carved details and soft pink color with a translucent quality. The scarab is bezel set and has leaf-like accents above and below as well as on the shoulders of the ring. The lovely gold design compliments the scarab beetle perfectly. The underside of the scarab reveals a simple carving and the band is stamped with the number "14" along with a makers mark. This wonderful and rare piece would make a lovely addition to any collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 5.25 but could easily be re-sized. The scarab beetle, including the leaf-like frame, measures approximately 5/8" tall, 1/2" wide, and has a depth of 1/4".

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the rose quartz scarab beetle.
