A beautiful charm/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely heart shaped piece is made of silver, and has a beautiful winged cherub on the front. The picture is hand painted with an enamel surface and has wonderful and intricate detailing. The vibrant colored enameled cherub is deep in thought while gazing up at the heavens. A beautiful scrolled border frames the portrait. The other side of the charm has a white enamel background with the German words “Gott schütze Dich” painted in black. I believe this translates to “God Protect You”. The piece hangs from a simple silver ring, which is stamped “800”. It would look lovely worn alone as a pendant, or with other charms on a bracelet!
Measurements: The charm/pendant measures 1" tall, 3/4" at its widest point and less than 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm/pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver or to the enameling.
