A wonderful Victorian (ca1910) era Russian silver (800) coin necklace. This unusual piece has a double row of coins, 60 in total, (30 on top, and 30 on bottom) that are attached to one another by a small silver ring. The design of the necklace depicts a collar and each individual coin is highly detailed on both sides. One side of the coin boasts an engraving of a double-headed bird with a shield at its body and snakes atop its heads. On the other side of the coin is the number 5 and numerous Russian letters and symbols, along with the years ranging from 1884 to 1910. This extraordinary piece rests nicely on the nape of the neck, just above the collar bone. A fabulous piece would look great on the bare neck or over a simple top!
Measurements: The length of the necklace is 15 1/2 " long and has a width of 1 1/4 ". Each coin has a diameter of 5/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. There is no apparent damage to any of the coins and the clasp is secure and in good working condition.
