Bakelite is a resin material that was produced  in the early 1900's and was the first plastic substance made of synthetic components. Initially used for its electrically non conductive and heat resistant properties in radio and telephone castings, the material was also used in other products such as kids toys, kitchenware and jewelry. Typically made of bright, beautiful colors, Bakelite has become very collectible over recent years and is appreciated amongst many.

A fabulous Bakelite and chrome link bracelet from the Art Deco (ca 1930) era. This unusual "paprika" colored bracelet is comprised of 4 large Bakelite links which are attached to a chrome setting on the reverse side by small screws. The Bakelite links are connected with 3 alternating curved chrome links. The clasp is also chrome. A wonderful addition for any Bakelite collector!

Measurements: The bracelet measures approximately 7 1/2" long. The Bakelite links each measure approximately 1 1/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. The chrome links measure approximately 3/4" long.

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. There are a few minor surface scratches in the Bakelite but are not noticeable. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
