Wonderful and very unusual onyx and enameled earrings from the early Victorian (ca1850) era! Each earring is comprised of a wide flat u-shaped hoop which is made of solid onyx. The hoops graduates in width and is slightly concave at the bottom. The top of each side has a 14kt yellow gold topper that is detailed with black enameling on one side. The wires of the earrings have 14kt gold European backs, which fasten in the front. These stunning and unique earrings are in beautiful condition and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs a little more than 2" long and measures 1 1/8" at the widest point of the hoop and is a little more than 1/8" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Amazingly there is no apparent damage to the onyx or enameling and the earring clasps are secure and in good working condition.
