Edwardian Sterling & Mississippi River Pearl Tassel Necklace
A beautiful Mississippi River pearl necklace from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This lovely and unusual piece is comprised of a delicate sterling chain that divides at the middle, creating a multiple strand festoon necklace with three tassels. Each tassel is decorated with natural Mississippi River seed pearls which hang in a draped fashion, adding a dramatic look to the piece. The pearls have a rich, lustrous color and the necklace fastens together in the back with a simple sterling spring ring clasp. It is a beautifully made piece that would compliment any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The entire length of the necklace measures about 17" long. The longest center tassel hangs approximately 2 1/2" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling chain or the pearls, which are all intact. The spring ring clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
