A unique and very unusual diamond and sapphire pendant from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! The pendant, which is made of platinum topped 14kt yellow gold, has a shield-like shape and cage-like design. The entire piece is etched in a fabulous floral motif and the wirework is absolutely magnificent. At the center are two flowers which have an old Mine Cut diamond set within its center. Between the two flowers is a box setting, which holds a prong set Mine Cut diamond and on each side of the center diamond is a row of 3 vibrant sapphires. The piece hangs from a complimentary bail, which is also in the shape of a shield. The very unique piece has a fantastic design and can be transformed into a pendant carrying multiple colors. It is hinged on the side and opens to expose a spot to place different colored fabrics or paper, making this piece easy to wear with anything! As portrayed in the pictures, each color transforms the gorgeous pendant into infinite possibilities. The special piece looks beautiful on and would make a great addition to any collection!
