An absolutely stunning diamond and ruby ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This gorgeous ring is made of 18kt yellow gold and displays a luscious ruby stone bezel set in its center. The faceted ruby has fantastic, vibrant color and is surrounded by a frame of 14 sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds. The diamonds are prong-set within the platinum topped, 18kt gold mounting and delicate platinum wirework connects the oval stone center to the outer border of the mounting. Bezel set within the wirework are 4 additional sparkling diamonds. The mounting is absolutely lovely with cutouts and milgrained detailing and the fine wirework can be seen from all sides of the ring. Two additional diamonds rest on each shoulder of the mounting and are prong-set in a platinum box setting. The underside of the gold band is engraved “517”. It is a beautiful ring and would look perfect worn everyday or could make a unique engagement ring!
Measurements: The face of the ring measures slightly more than 5/8” tall and 1/2" wide. The ring has a finger size 7.25 but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum and 18kt gold mounting, and all of the stones are intact.
