The locket, which has a square box shape, was possibly used to hold stamps. It has a rose gold body and half of the face is topped with platinum. The gold part of the face has a wonderful repousse design and the platinum side is smooth. There is a single old Mine Cut diamond set within the platinum in an etched starburst design. The locket opens from the top to reveal a space for a small object or a photo. At the top is a simple, oval shaped bail which hangs from a matching 14kt rose gold and platinum chain. The chain has alternating sections of different colored links which complements the locket beautifully. The clasp of the chain is stamped "14K". A simply lovely and unusual piece, this locket and chain would make any collection complete!

Measurements: The locket measures approximately 7/8" long, 7/8" wide and has a depth of 1/4". The chain measures 16" long.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. There is some normal surface wear the gold and platinum surface and some scratches on the back of the locket which is not unusual for a Edwardian piece. The locket closes easily and securely and the diamond is intact. There is no apparent damage to the chain which clasps easily and securely.
