Art Deco Platinum Diamond & Onyx Engagement Ring 0.66ct
A gorgeous and unusual diamond engagement ring from the Art Deco (ca1930) era! Made of platinum, this beautiful ring holds a sparkling old European Cut diamond at the center, which is prong set in a box setting. The center diamond weighs approximately 0.66ct and has I color and VS2 clarity. At either side of the diamond are four delicate pieces of faceted onyx held in a channel setting. The presence of onyx in a diamond engagement ring is rare and adds a lovely depth and quality to the design! There are twelve smaller bead set diamonds that line the top and bottom of the mounting and accent the shoulders. In total, the smaller old European Cut diamonds weigh approximately 0.25ct with H-I range color and VS range clarity. Two baguette cut diamonds rest on either side of the onyx, and weigh 0.15ct with H-I range color and VS range clarity. The sides of the mounting display a beautiful Deco filigree design complete with fine milgrained detail and an airline along the sides. The ring was appraised in July 2014 by an independent and accredited GIA certified Gemologist, and has a stated retail replacement value of $5,600.00. It's a stunning and unique piece that looks beautiful when worn, and would make a gorgeous engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 5.25 but could be easily re-sized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting or to any of the diamond or onyx stones, all of which are intact.
