Estate 18kt & Silver Ancient Roman Style Coin Ring

Inspired by Roman history, an emerging trend in contemporary fashion is to incorporate ancient Roman coin replicas into current designs, creating wearable modern pieces of jewelry. This stylish Estate piece is comprised of a silver coin set within a handmade 18kt yellow gold mounting. The silver coin is styled with an air of antiquity, made to represent a piece of currency used in the ancient Roman Republic (221 BC to 170 BC). One side of the coin bears the image of a man's face shown in profile, complete with sculpted facial features and swirled strands of hair. The opposite side of the coin shows a seated figure, who rests with one arm raised and a shroud of fabric wrapped around the waist. The silver coin is held within a soldered 4-prong setting,  and is surrounded by a thick gold border. The sides and band of  the ring are formed by loosely overlapping gold bands, as though woven together. A flexible ring guard is fashioned inside the shank, though it could be removed if desired. A wonderful and very stylish piece, this eye-catching ring would compliment any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.25, but could be adjusted up or down if necessary. The centerpiece is 3/4" tall, 5/8" wide, and rests 1/4" above the finger when worn. The coin replica itself has a 5/8" diameter.

Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold mounting, and the silver coin is intact. The back of the coin has a patina that shows some color variation, giving the coin replica an authentic antiqued look.
