An impressive and very unique ring from the late Art Deco (ca1930's) era! Made of platinum, this fabulous piece is a step cut design that features a large sapphire stone at the center and two dazzling diamonds on the sides. The center stone is a 3.69ct Brilliant Cut natural corundum sapphire, which has no indications of heat treating. What makes the sapphire stone so extraordinary is its color changing properties. The color of the sapphire changes from violet blue to deep purple, depending on whether it is being viewed under daylight or fluorescent vs. incandescent light. Set at each shoulder of the ring is a beautiful, sparkling diamond, weighing approximately .5ct each for a total weight of 1ctw. Both diamonds are Old European cuts, with H range color and VS1 range clarity. The color changing sapphire was evaluated in July 2013 by GIA (the Gemological Institute of America) and comes with a full written report. Absolutely stunning, this very special ring looks incredible when worn, and would make a fabulous addition to any collection or would make a gorgeous engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 5 but could be easily resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting and the sapphire stone and both diamonds are intact.
