Art Deco Platinum Diamond & Sapphire Engagement Ring 1.15ct
An outstanding diamond and sapphire engagement ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This fabulous piece has an old European Cut diamond stone that rests in the center of a very ornate filigree mounting made of platinum. The diamond has a total weight of 1.15ct with M+ color and SI1 clarity. The diamond, which is prong set in a square shaped setting, is accented by 2 Baguette Cut synthetic sapphires on either side, totaling approximately .05ct. The unusual design of the piece features an exquisite floral motif, which is complete with filigree wirework, delicate milgrain detail and lovely engraving along the sides of the band. We haven't sent the center diamond to the GIA labs yet, however our GIA certified Gemologist gave the stone M+ color and stated that it is most likely a natural fancy yellow. The ring was appraisal by an independent and accredited GIA certified Gemologist in December 2013 and has a stated retail replacement value of $7,800.00. It's an absolutely breathtaking piece and would make a stunning engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring is a finger size 7.5 but could easily be re-sized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting and the diamond and both sapphires are intact.
