An incredibly beautiful sapphire and diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This breathtaking piece is made of 18kt yellow gold topped in platinum and adorns a round sapphire stone resting in the center of a diamond border. The oval shaped sapphire, which weighs approximately 3.5ctw, has a faceted face and gorgeous deep blue color. Surrounding the center stone are 18 sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds which are bezel set within a scalloped platinum border. Each shoulder of the ring features an additional bead set diamond within a delicate milgrain setting.The diamonds vary slightly in color and clarity and have a total weight of approximately .45ctw. The underside of the mounting displays a beautiful wirework cutout design in 18kt yellow gold, which extends to the smooth yellow gold band. It looks absolutely gorgeous when worn and could make a stunning everyday piece or a wonderful engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 7 but could easily be re-sized. The cluster face of the ring measures 5/8" tall, 1/2" wide and rests approximately 1/4" above the finger when worn.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum setting and the sapphire and diamonds are all intact.
