A spectacular piece from the Georgian (ca1850) era! This beautiful pin and pendant is made of gilded silver and is encrusted with eye catching Rose Cut diamonds. The piece begins with a circular topper, which is large in size and features a spiraled design. The outer border has elongated petal-like shapes, which encircle a row of smaller, circular shapes, each holding a Rose cut diamond. The largest diamond of all rests in the center and is marvelously faceted on the front surface. Dangling below the topper is a movable tassel, which begins with a single Rose cut diamond at the top. Extending below are 5 strands that meet at a horizontal, diamond encrusted bar. Hanging below the bar are 7 strands, each encrusted with Rose cut diamonds. The strands are hinged, giving movement to the piece, though they rest against a silver bar behind them. The back of the piece has both a bar pin and a double bail, allowing it to be worn as either a pin or a pendant. The pin/pendant has been attached to a modern black silk cord. A piece that is as beautiful as it is versatile, it looks dazzling when worn and would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
Measurements: The piece measures approximately 2 5/8" long, 1 1/4" wide, and 3/8" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gilded silver setting and all of the diamonds are intact. The bar pin fastens securely and is in good working condition.
