An absolutely fabulous hand carved coral pin from the Georgian (ca1780) era. This striking piece, which is particularly large in size, features a romantic flowing image with a beautiful woman and cherub surrounded by various floral and scrolled shapes and detailing. In one hand, the cherub is holding a cornucopia filled with bunches of grapes, flowers and other fruits; in the other hand is a long strand of flowers, leaves and fruits that is also held by the woman. This strand continues around, surrounding them both and carrying throughout the background of the rest of the pin. The coral has beautiful and vibrant orange hue and a 14kt gold c-catch pin clasp is attached to the back of the coral. It is a marvelous and unusual piece that would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 2" tall, 3 1/8" at the widest point and 3/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. The clasp of the pin is secure and in good working condition and there is no apparent damage to the coral or metal.
