A gorgeous locket from the Art Nouveau (ca1911) era! This lovely piece is made of vibrant 18kt yellow gold and has the wonderful repousse image of a beautiful woman's face. The picture is intricately detailed with wavy locks of hair and an angelic face. She is surrounded by soft flowers and leaves and the surface is detailed with 18 old Rose Cut diamonds. On the back of the locket are the hand engraved initials "RR" along with the date "19-7-1911". The piece carries the shape of a upside down bell-shaped flower, perfectly complimenting the beautiful floral motif. The locket is a slide style and opens to reveal the original mirror on one side and the repousse back on the other. This unusual and beautiful locket would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs is 1 5/8" long, is1 1/2" at the widest point, and is a little less than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the diamonds are intact. The locket slides open easily and closes securely.
