Marius Hammer, a Norwegian jewelry designer, was a pioneer in the development of enameled jewelry. This Arts & Crafts (ca1910) necklace is a stunning example of his artistry. The pendant, which is made of sterling silver, is in the shape of a rounded "plus sign" and has beautiful light green enameling detail. From the main section hangs three enameled dangling bars and within the pendant is beautiful silver wirework. The silver has a natural patina, which is normal for vintage silver pieces. The pendant hangs from a sterling chain and has a barrel catch. The back of the piece is marked with Marius Hammer's "M" hallmark and also "930S". It would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant measures 1 3/4" at the longest point and 3/4" at the widest point. The chain is 16.5" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the enameling or to the chain and the clasp is secure and in good working condition.
