Victorian Gold Filled 5 Heart Locket Necklace 18"
An absolutely fabulous gold filled necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unique piece is formed by a gold filled chain that fastens at the back with a large 14kt yellow gold swivel clasp. Attached to the chain is a compilation of 5 heart shaped lockets, all of which are gold filled and unique in design. The largest locket, which hangs from a large spring ring clasp in the center of the chain, has a monogrammed set of initials on the front and is smooth on the back. The other four hearts are slightly smaller and hang from each side of the center locket. To the left of center is a locket with a slightly concave surface and a lovely star and crescent moon design on the front in sparkling white French paste. The locket to the right is intricately engraved with a floral motif and set of three initials. The outermost lockets, which are the smallest of the group, also bear unique designs. One has an engine turned pattern of vertical lines with a flowing floral engraving at the bottom, while the other has a smooth surface with a single stone set in the center of an etched starburst design. All of the lockets open and close easily and have space to store photographs inside. The compilation of hearts makes this necklace very unique, and it is certainly eye-catching when worn! This charming and feminine piece has a wonderful look and would make a lovely addition to any collection!
