Late Victorian 14kt Large Faceted Citrine Link Necklace
The citrine is a member of the large quartz family, a family which has a multitude of colors and various structures. The most desirable stones have a clear, radiant yellowish to brownish red warm tone.
A breathtaking citrine necklace from the Late Victorian (ca1900) era! This gorgeous piece is comprised of 10 large citrine stones that are set in ornate 14kt yellow gold bezels, graduating slightly with the largest links at the center of the piece. The citrine stones, which are oval shaped and faceted along the face and back, are each held in place by gold prongs and have an open back. Each handset stone displays a beautiful, vivid color, and the facets catch the light wonderfully when worn. Surrounding each stone is a gorgeous filigree design in yellow gold, which enhances the citrines perfectly. Connecting each link is a small gold Feur de Lys surrounded by a twisted gold open border. The piece fastens in the back with a push clasp hidden within one of the citrine links. At the back of one of the center links is a gold hook, allowing a complimentary pendant to be hung below if desired. It's a truly outstanding piece that would make any collection complete!
