Victorian 18kt Carved Opal & Diamond Wing Cherub Pendant
An exquisite handmade pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning piece features a hand carved vibrant opal cherub face resting between rich 18kt yellow gold wings. The details carved in the face are exceptional, showing fine features and every curl in his hair. The wings are ornately etched and have 9 diamonds, approximately 1pt each, scattered throughout. The pendant, which used to be a pin, attaches to a modern, 14kt yellow gold chain that is beautifully detailed with a single bezel set diamond. This spectacular and unusual pendant is very rare and one of a kind. It would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant measures approximately 2" wide and approximately 7/8" tall. The cherub's face measures approximately 1/2" long, 1/2" wide and has a depth of 1/4". The chain measure 15.5" in length.
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold pendant and all of the diamond stones are intact. There is an unnoticeable chip on the side of the cherub that can not be seen when worn. The clasp of the chain is secure and in good working condition.
