A fabulous Mississippi River pearl chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Extremely long in length, this chain is made of gunmetal links that alternate with beautiful natural Mississippi River pearls. The pearls have a rich, shimmery color that adds softness to this stunning piece. At the center of the chain is a gunmetal watch swivel clasp, which makes it easy to double the chain and/or to hang a complimentary pendant or locket from. It is a beautifully made piece and would be a perfect addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures about 61" long. Each pearl is unique so their sizes vary, however on average, each pearl measures approximately 1/4" long and 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gunmetal links or the pearls. The watch swivel clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
