A fabulous banded agate bead necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning necklace hugs the collar beautifully and is made up of six strands of graduating banded agate beads. Gorgeous earth tones of black, brown and white make this a spectacular accessory and a huge gold filled clasp connects the statement piece. The clasp has intricate detailing that displays a lovely leaf motif and six additional cabochon banded agate stones. The ornate clasp could be worn and displayed on the side of the necklace or hidden at the nape. A fabulous piece, this necklace makes a true statement when worn and would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The longest strand of beads measures 19 1/2" long and the shortest measures approximately 15" long. The largest bead has a diameter slightly less than 3/8" and the smallest bead has a diameter slightly less than 1/8". The clasp measures 1 3/4" tall, 1" wide, and about 1/4" deep.
Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage or chips to the banded agate beads and the clasp is secure and in good working condition. It appears that one of the leaves within the clasp has been replaced, however, this is hardly noticeable when the piece is worn.
