A fabulous sterling silver book chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece is comprised of alternating hexagonal and rectangular shaped links that are made of sterling silver. The hexagonal links display lovely cross cutouts and all of the links are smooth on both sides and very light in weight. At the center of the chain are two large spring clasp rings, making the length of the necklace easily adjustable as well as providing a place for you to hang a complimentary locket or pendant from. A gorgeous necklace it can be worn alone or layered with other necklaces.
Measurements: The silver book chain has can be worn at 20 1/2" long or at 18 1/4” with a 2 1/4" hanging extension. It measures slightly more than 1/2" at the widest point and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the book chain is excellent. There are no significant scratches or dents in the silver links however there is normal wear to the surface, which is not uncommon for a Victorian piece. Both spring clasp rings are secure and in good working condition.
