Edwardian Sterling & Pavé Seed Pearl Heart Pin/Pendant
A lovely and feminine pin/pendant from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This wonderful heart-shaped piece is made of sterling silver and has a pavé-set (French for "pavement") natural seed pearl surface. The delicate natural seed pearls display a lovely, rich luster and look fantastic in contrast with the silver setting. At the top of the heart is a swinging bail, while a hook clasp rests at the bottom of the heart on the reverse side of the piece, allowing it be hung as a pendant and worn with either side facing up. A secure pin clasp also rests across the back of the piece, making this convertible design wearable in three different ways. The back of the heart is concave, and the hook clasp is stamped "STERLING". A wonderful and delicate piece, it would look lovely pinned to a favorite garment or worn as a pendant on a silver chain. Very feminine and versatile, it is perfect for everyday wear and would make a beautiful gift for someone special!
Measurements: The heart measures approximately 3/4" wide and tall, and has a depth of 3/16".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin/pendant is excellent. All of the pearls are intact and there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting. The swinging bail, hook clasp, and bar pin are all secure and in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the silver, which is normal for a an older sterling piece and adds depth to the design.
