Early Victorian 18kt & Sterling Diamond & Ruby Bow
An absolutely fabulous diamond and ruby encrusted pendant from the early Victorian (ca1850) period! This gorgeous piece portrays 2 sparkling hoops with a lovely bow resting on top. The pendant, which is particularly large in size, is made of 18kt gold topped with sterling silver. The larger, outer hoop holds 31 bead-set, old Mine Cut diamonds that graduate in size and have an approximate overall diamond weight of 1.85ct. The smaller, inner hoop has vibrant calibrated rubies lining the surface which compliment the sparkling diamonds wonderfully. Freely dangling in the center of the 2 hoops is a single old Mine Cut diamond that weighs approximately 1.45ct. Connecting the center diamond to the 2 hoops are 2 smaller, bezel-set diamonds which rest at the base of the bow. The bow holds an additional 31 old Mine Cut diamonds and doubles as the bail of the pendant. The overall diamond weight of the pendant is approximately 4.25ct tw The piece, which was originally worn as a pin, has been converter to a pendant for modern day wear. It's truly a work of art and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 3/4" long. The inner hoop measures slightly more than 3/4" tall and slightly less than 5/8” wide. The outer hoop measures 1 1/4" tall and slightly more than 1” wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and sterling silver setting and all of the rubies and diamonds are intact.
