A lovely banded agate locket/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece, which is made of vibrant 15kt yellow gold, has a large cabochon banded agate stone bezel set in its center. The stone is set within a rhombus-shaped mounting and is bordered by twisted gold wirework. Bezel set into each side of the rhombus mounting is a long, half oval, banded agate stone. All of the agate stones have fabulous stripes of earthy brown, tan, and white. The pendant hangs from a lovely complimentary gold bail and the underside of the pendant reveals a glass-covered spot to hold a favorite photograph. It's a gorgeous piece and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2 1/4" long, is 1 3/8" at the widest point, and is slightly more than 1/2" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the banded agate stones. The glass casing of the locket opens easily and stays securely closed.
