$495

David Anderson was a Norwegian gold and silversmith who began producing jewelry in 1876 in Oslo. His Modernist designs often incorporated artistic enamel motifs, and his family company has lasted several generations. When his great grand daughter Uni inherited the company, it was re-named the Studio Uni David Anderson, and continued to produce beautiful and creative jewelry designs.

This wonderful Mid Century (ca1955) pin and earring set are the "Summer" design from David Andersen's 'Four Seasons' collection! The vintage three piece set is comprised of a large rectangular brooch and a complimentary pair of clip earrings, all made of sterling silver gilt. The design boasts a wonderful enameled motif, depicting the look and feel of summertime in vibrant green, gold, and teal hues. The whimsical, artistic design has a grid-like appearance, almost as though viewing a landscape from the air. The asymmetrical composition of overlapping shapes is textured with fine Guilloché detail, and evokes imagery representing fields, water, and sky. On the back of the pin is a simple pin clasp, while the earrings have secure clips. Stamped on the back of the three pieces are several hallmarks, including: "D-A," 925S," "NORWAY-STERLING," and the symbol of a pair of scales. A fun and delightful abstract design, this wonderful set is perfect for any collector and looks wonderful when worn together!

Measurements: The brooch measures 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" tall. Each clip earring measures 7/8" long and 5/8" wide.

Condition: The overall condition of the set is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling gilt setting or Guilloché and enamel detail. The pin back fastens securely and is in good working condition, and both earring clips are secure and intact. There is a patina on the surface of the silver gilt, which is normal and adds depth to the design.
