Retro 14kt Natural Pearl & Garnet Cockatoo Bird Pin

SKU: 34580

A wonderful cockatoo pin from the Retro (ca1940) era! This fabulous piece is made of 14kt yellow gold and detailed with a pearl and garnet design. The pin depicts a cockatoo bird resting atop a gold perch. The cockatoo's body has a textured surface to represent feathers and dozens of delicate natural pearls cover its face, neck, and belly. The wings are decorated with cabochon garnet stones which have a rich, red color. A single diamond stone represents the bird's eye and the design is complete with a curved beak, individual feet, and raised feathers on top of its head. A natural pearl sits at the foot of the cockatoo as though balanced on the gold perch. The back of the piece is flat and is stamped "14K" below a secure gold pin clasp. This fun and detailed Retro pin looks fabulous when worn and would make a delightful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The pin measures 1 7/8" tall, slightly less than 1 1/4" at its widest point and has a depth of 1/2".

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the pearls and stones are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
