A fantastic diamond ring from the Retro (ca1940) era! Made of 14kt yellow and white gold, the mounting has a superb step-up design that features rows of sparkling diamonds. One side of the ring has 4 horizontal rows of Single Cut diamonds that accent the shoulder of the ring. The opposing shoulder has 4 vertical rows of Single Cut diamonds, which curl inwards as they near the center of the ring, creating a curved shape. The center of the ring holds 5 larger, round brilliant prong set diamonds, which vary in size and form a cluster of glittering stones. These center diamonds have an approximate weight of 1.20ctw. The overall effect of the attractive design is very modern and unusual. The band is made of 14kt yellow gold and the diamonds are set within white gold. The band is hinged at the shoulders and pulls open at a small seam on the underside, revealing a clasp inside; this mechanism was hand crafted to fit a finger with larger knuckles, allowing it to fit securely on the finger. The inside of the ring is stamped "KM. 14K PAT." along with the reference number "3736770.32215". This fashionable ring would make a bold and impressive addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 8. The center of the ring measures approximately 3/4" wide and tall and rests 1/4" above the finger.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to any of the diamond stones, all of which are intact. The hinged mechanism is secure and in good working condition.
