Art Deco Platinum Diamond & Sapphire Elongated Filigree Ring
A stunning diamond and sapphire ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This wonderful platinum ring has an elegant filigree setting with an elongated centerpiece. The setting is slightly convex and curves nicely around the finger. An old mine cut diamond is bead set at the center in a octagonal box setting, and set directly above and below are two smaller mine cut diamonds triangular-box settings. Surrounding the center stones are four rows of delicate calibrated sapphires, adding a wonderful pop of beautiful blue color! Completing the elaborate design is intricate filigree wirework, lacy swirls and shapely cutouts, and fine milgrained detail. A lovely ensemble of 12 diamond accents are bead set throughout the mounting, giving radiant sparkle to the design. The shoulders of the band are hand engraved with a feminine floral motif that compliments the rest of the detail throughout the ring. The inside of the shank is stamped "IRID" and "PLAT". It's a gorgeous statement piece that would look beautiful worn on special occasions, or could make a unique engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 5.5 but it could easily be re-sized. The elongated plaque centerpiece measures approximately 3/4" tall and 1/2" wide.
