Victorian 14kt Yellow Gold Signet Ring
A signet ring can be represented with an intaglio, which is created by carving below the surface of a stone or by a simple smooth seal. Its purpose would have been to seal the wax of a letter or note.
A simply stunning gold signet ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This ring, which is made of vibrant 14kt yellow gold, has an oval-shaped face with a smooth center and the shoulders display an ornate swirled design that extends to the band. The center of the ring could be engraved with a set of initials if desired, or simply left smooth. A beautiful Victorian piece, it has a wonderful artistic design and could be worn by a woman or man!
Measurements: The signet stamp measures 9/16" tall and 7/16” wide. The ring has a large finger size 8, but could easily be re-sized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold. A small seam can be detected at the back of the band where it was likely resized at one point, however it is not noticeable or visible when worn.
