An absolutely fabulous carved moonstone ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! Simply stunning, the ring is made of 14kt yellow gold and displays a large oval-shaped moonstone center. The moonstone, which is bezel set, is hand carved and depicts a beautiful woman’s face. The ornate detail portrayed in the woman’s face is exceptional. If you look very closely, you can see her lovely locks of hair and a hair band and lovely soft facial features. The moonstone has wonderful iridescent color with beautiful hints of vibrant blue. The gold mounting displays stunning wirework and etchings that carry halfway along the band. The shank of the ring is stamped "14K". Very unusual and remarkable due to the quality of the moonstone, this ring would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The moonstone plaque measures slightly more than 3/4" long, slightly more than 1/2" wide and slightly more than 1/8" deep. The ring has a finger size 5.5 but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold setting or to the moonstone, which is intact.
