Late Victorian 14kt & Natural Pearl Snake Ring

SKU: 33452

The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection.

This delicate snake ring from the Victorian (ca1900) era is absolutely fabulous! Coiled around a natural pearl, the snake's body is made of 14kt yellow gold and represents the mounting as well as the band of the ring. The natural pearl, which is oval-like in shape, has a wonderful luster and rich iridescent color which looks fantastic against the vibrant yellow gold. The gold snake has textured, scale-like etching throughout to represent scales and its face is depicted with engraved dots and lines to represent its eyes and nostrils. The back of the band is made of smooth yellow gold, and the shank is stamped "14K". This unusual and fashionable snake ring looks fantastic when worn and would be perfect for any snake lover!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 5.75 but could easily been re-sized if desired. Resting atop ones finger, the coiled snake body and pearl measure 5/8" tall and 1/2" wide, and rests approximately 1/4" above the finger.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the natural pearl, which is intact.
