An absolutely fabulous and unusual sterling bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous sterling silver piece is particularly wide and has a mixed metals floral design across the surface. Made to look like a buckle, the design has a 3-dimensional appearance with a mixed metals applique floral design accenting the front. Rich in detail, the flowers and leaves vary in hues of 9kt yellow, green and rose gold and an ornate etched design decorates the buckle strap. The piece is hinged and clasps on the side with a safety chain for added security. The underside of the bracelet is simple smooth silver and the interior of the bracelet has several English hallmarks: the letter "L" twice, an anchor, 2 lions and the initials "J.M.B.". Handmade and hand-etched, the bangle is a classic Victorian piece. Worn alone or with other bracelets it would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The top surface of the bracelet measures approximately 1 1/4" wide and has a depth of 1/4". The inside opening (where your wrist would fit) measures 2 1/4" long and approximately 1 7/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear to the underside of the bangle, there is no serious damage to the silver. The clasp and hinge is secure and in good working condition.
